Hello all, I am making my own flags/standards using pins and the excellent Warflag/Napflag resource but I am struggling to find a method to represent the Eagle on the top.
Has anyone any pearls of wisdom to share that may stop my Grognards grumbling?

Tell your chums to give you a break.

I did the same thing. For the eagle I simply printed the appropriate shape on normal printer paper and cut it out with an exacto knife.

I glued the cutout to the end of the pin with crazy glue (super glue in the UK?), which had the added bonus of stiffening the paper as it was absorbed. Paint the sucker gold, and you're good to go.

But be sure to glue the eagle on the pin before the flag--you don't want to get any stray crazy glue on your flag.

You could use a little green stuff on the end of the pin.

Put a small ball of green stuff on the pin head.
Squash it partially flat between your fingers.
Use a tooth pick dipped in water to add a little detail.

Or you could just buy Baccus figures that already have the eagles on their standards and pick up the flags as well.

Adler figures also come with the eagle cast on the flagstaffs.

Great stuff! Some fantastic ideas there.

JimDuncanUK – Unfortunately I have to admit that its not my chums beating me up over this, but my own tiny wee Bonaparte that resides in my head!

KniazSuvarov and Keithbarker – thanks, I like both ideas. May try the paper one first.

Glenn Pearce and StoneMtnMinis – both Baccus and Adler would do the job admirably and without the heartache I'm putting myself through, but I am doing this on a tight budget and don't believe either manufacturer sells the eagle bearers seperately.
I'm using the wonderful Commission Figurines mdf figures through choice as well as monetary considerations, but they require me to make the standards. The Brits and Spanish (plus others) are easy enough as the standard 'dress pin' that I use works well with just the head snipped off.

Thanks all for the responses.
