I have started a new blog to document the making of 3 tables for Pulp Alley over the next 5 months. Wish me luck!

Is there a waterfall in the future?

Great looking project!

Possibly…. I would like to add one but there is supposed to be a portal in the waterfall that players will have to get to. If I modelled a waterfall then that would impede that.

In the mean time I have to forest floor added as well as some greenery fixed to the cliff edges and creek banks.

As usula more pictures and words on my blog.

Awesome terrain!

Codsticker20 Nov 2017 11:54 p.m. PST

Thank you Pulp Girl.

The table really is almost done. I finished off a bunch of trees I started in June or so and added some static grass and a few more small tufts between the beach and the jungle.

Oh my. Those buildings are awfully pretty. Jealous!:)

Codsticker18 Dec 2017 2:19 p.m. PST

Than you Lord Ashram.

Another installment in my ongoing Pulp Alley Project. The pressure is on to get it to a playable state by Dec. 30th.

The state of the buildings so far:

After a week and a halves hard work we have got the table to a point where we could give it a run through. The interiors of the buildings are all done and the surface of the table is largely done.

Test run:

I have concentrated on the table for the last few days. I laid down a mix of Sculptamold and brown paint for dirt and painted the stone wall of the canal.

The buildings of one city block are finished. All that needs doing is the basing. \

All my Sarissa Precision buildings are now painted. Finishing the attached pavements is next on the agenda.

The buildings look good. Like the two and three story buildings in Brooklyn and Queens. Your set up is going to look very much like one of those neighborhoods.

Excellent! That is look we were going for on the paved side of the canal.

Codsticker04 Feb 2018 11:30 a.m. PST

Some greenery had been made up for the board: hedges made static grass and a few shrubs added.

Some small bits finished and several photos of the table as it currently stands. Still a few bits to add once they arrive (come on Canada post!) and get painted.

It's a really nice looking little town. I certainly hope the folks there get along with each other.

[q]It's a really nice looking little town. I certainly hope the folks there get along with each other.[/q]
Well… there is a bit of conflict. The canal has formed a natural barrier that created a green belt of agricultural land around the town. However, as the town rapidly expands, developers are eyeing the other side of the canal, specifically the farm that has fallen into disuse. The elderly couple that own it are reluctant to sell as it has been in his family for generations and have no need for the money (their children have all moved to distant cites and have no interest in farming). Well heeled urban professionals love the green belt- an excellent place for taking fresh air and walking their Labradoodles. They have become quite hot at the prospect of loosing it, and suspect that a back room deal has already been settled between the developers and city hall as the developers have already started preparing to break ground despite no official announcement. Additionally, there is a rumour that an ancient indian burial ground is about to be disturbed if the developers push ahead with their plans to build across from The Old Barn….

… but other than that, yeah, everyone gets along fine.

Dr Argent12 Feb 2018 7:27 p.m. PST

Pulp Alley is a great game but they have not kept up with urban planning, permitting process and general plans. I want to see cards like "NIMBY" or "Gentrification". Or "Historic Landmark", which creates a plot point wherever you please. And hazardous terrain for everyone else.

Codsticker12 Feb 2018 8:36 p.m. PST

All excellent suggestions….thumbs up

Codsticker18 Feb 2018 5:26 p.m. PST

I finally got around to the water features for the jungle: ocean and waterfall.

A few more pictures and commentary on my blog.

Codsticker11 Mar 2018 4:49 p.m. PST

The last update before Trumpeter's Salute in Vancouver. I just finished a few street odds and sodds: pallets, trash cans, fire hydrants- that sort of thing.

Close up pictures as well as info on my blog..

Thank you CC. Trumpeter's is this weekend so hopefully I get some pictures of people enjoying a few games on these tables.

After temproraily scrapping the harbour project, I have started on some items for a remote, seldom used airstrip.

Codsticker25 Mar 2018 11:05 p.m. PST

Work continues on the abandoned airstrip. I have added a Novus Designs fuel tank:

The table surface for the airstrip is nearly done. Just the runway itself to finish off. Over the last week and a half I went from this:

Christ almighty, what lovely tables. Some of that scenery makes my heart go pitter patter… those city buildings and the streets, for example, are top notch, with the paint, the signs, and the details.

Codsticker02 Apr 2018 10:03 a.m. PST

Thank you Lord Ashram. BTW, your blog is an inspiration- I always enjoy reading your entries.

Bob Runnicles02 Apr 2018 1:29 p.m. PST

Incredible! What are the dimensions for your tables? I know officially Pulp Alley favors a 3'x3' or 4'x4', are these some variation of that?

The waterfall table seriously makes me want to get some of Bob Murch's South Seas Adventurers figures on it lol.

Cacique Caribe02 Apr 2018 5:58 p.m. PST

Now all you need are some cool propaganda posters, perhaps a billboard too.

The tables are 3x3. In retrospect I should have gone with 4x3. That extra foot would really be handy.

Codsticker08 Apr 2018 10:23 a.m. PST

The table surface itself is now finished; next up some scatter terrain and (when they arrive) another building and a vehicle.
