All,

I am in the process of starting in the Renaissance period and would like recommendations on rules that fit these preferences:

1) Can play 6mm

2) Can play solo

3) 1 base = 1 unit

4) Command and control – generals and subgenerals represented on the table

5) Defined army lists (would be nice but not required)

6) Can do more exotic Renaissance conflicts such as the Adal War in Ethiopia, Conquistidors and Aztecs, and Moghuls in India

Thanks,

Christian

Pike and Shotte work for me

Curry has made available a PDF version of Gush Renaissance army list. I notice that FOGR army lists are around as discounts.
These are useful sources if making your own armies.
DBR or DBRR sounds about what you need.
May need to do a bit of searching on the net.

I'd vote DBR too.

Baroque. Can use half size stands in 6mm. Not fiddly.

Irregular Wars might be perfect. Checks all your boxes, and is focused on fringe conflicts for the period.

DBR isn't quite 1 base, 1 unit – Pike and Shotte formations are independent bass that are free to move separately.

Those Warlord Games rules based n HC/Black Powder would fit the bill I think?

I have just finished reading and played a trial game using Maximilian version 2 rules. Look good.
