Greetings; in a bit of a quandary, placed an order with a UK manufacturer in early August. Did not get a dispatch notice until a month later. However by early this month, no package so contacted manufacturer and they stated would dispatch a replacement order. Still nothing.

In all of my years ordering from the UK (variety of companies) have never had a package go missing, nor take this long. Feel bad that I may have to request a refund, but am not willing to eat the $200. USD How long would you wait before broaching the subject? Approaching three months so it's now on my mind.

I believe PayPal allows six months for dispute now, but certainly don't wish to wait that long.

To add: Placed an earlier order with this company in June and it only took three weeks to arrive.

Just an FYI, you might want to check with your local post office. I had two packages from the UK never show up, and they ended up being held at the post office…..basically the postman was too lazy to get out of his vehicle to drop it by my front door. I believe they hold the package for 30-45 days, and then send back to the original sender. It would be helpful if the seller could give you some tracking #'s.

I think I'd be requesting a refund by now. Personally anything over 28 days would be my limit unless the was good reason to wait longer.

no tracking number for an international shipment is inexcusable.

For an order of $200 USD I'd expect any UK firm to send by a tracked service, I'm surprised at that. Unless the customer was not prepared to pay the extra cost (and so take the risk on themselves) it would be in the sender's own interest.

However the Royal Mail tracking service is in a chaotic state at the moment and having serious issues with an upgrade they did some while back. As far as I know it is sorted for new postings but it is still failing to work for stuff sent early this month.

i had difficulty tracking a parcel in the uk, let alone over seas!
some parcels are taking much longer to get places and not just outside the uk either.

I've also had two packages from the UK fail to show up. They were from two different sellers too. I wonder if something is amiss with customs.

Yep, tracking number. Open a Paypal dispute now, you can always cancel if the parcel/s turn up.

In my experience not supplying a tracking number or saying later 'Oh, you should have asked for that, it costs extra' is often a sign that the 'sender' has no intention of sending the goods. I always ask for shipment insured and trackable if the web site does not specifically state that the sender will only use that sort of shipping.

Believe it or not….guess what showed up today? Seriously.

And I know exactly what happened. No fault of the manufacturer I am guessing, but Royal Mail. Same thing happened last year to a QRF/LKM order I made. Will be making a separate post about it so as not to directly connect the manufacturer here.

Thanks!

Heh! It's uncanny how often the moment I rouse myself and take action like this (making a fuss or starting a complaint process), that the missing or delayed item turns up. Thus making you look a bit foolish or intemperate sometimes. Such is life. I always stay civil but I also don't like to let things drag past a month, lest it affect my ability to take remedial steps. Foreign shipments can be very hit or miss of late, in my experience, sometimes very fast, sometimes very slow, sometimes never arriving at all. Often no tracking information is provided.

Congrats on spurring those postal imps into action and making your stuff appear!

If it has been delayed going to a US address it is far more likely to be a customs issue than a Royal Mail problem in my experience. Not that RM don't make errors but customs delays in the US are definitely more commonplace nowadays – for fairly obvious reasons.

Good to hear that it go to you though.

Is the UK company responding to your queries?

Cold Warrior29 Oct 2017 7:50 a.m. PST

Durando,

Package eventually arrived last week, company has been great with communication during the "wait", again I don't put the blame on them at all, but Royal Mail.
