Well done on the hot flesh! I take it you discarded whatever plastic bases came with the figures, and pinned the feet to bases?

I believe Tolkien's conception of balrogs evolved since his earlier writings,as there were many of them at the siege of Gondolin. If they were as powerful as the one in Moria, even as described in the book,it's hard to believe the Elves would be able to put up even as much fight as they did.

Of course, you could consider that the Moria balrog survived the conflagration at the end of the First Age because it was especially large and strong.

I've been resistant to Dark Alliance purchases, but I like these. As to Balrog size, it is implied that Gandalf mistook Durin's Bane for a Cave troll, and when he attacked the Fellowship on the Bridge they didn't notice him specifically with the crowd of orcs and trolls until he did the darkness wings thing. So these guys should be the right height, even in 25/28.

Totally agree Paul on the sizing. Bit like trolls and ents. Big, but not silly big.

Nice paintwork there. I need these

Thanks
@Vincent. This time no. As they come, the bases a a bit small making them unstable, so I hot glue gunned them to MDF bases.
