I am a big fan of Little Big Man transfers but I have just started painting my Foundry Franks and have discovered that thier shields are much bigger than others and are too big for the Dark Age transfers that LBMS sells for Foundry. What is everyone using for these large shields? |

I am lazy. I just use solid colors. My figs are veterans who are tired of doing the art work only to get it messed up in battle. |

A couple of ideas for you: - most shields can be done as solids or fan blades or something like this that is easy to paint - the few patterns with designs on them can be stuck on and then painted around to match OR - there were actually two sizes of shields with the Foundry franks I had, not sure you can get the smaller set in a bag from Foundry? - you could get some separate shields from someone who sells them (like Crusader) with matching transfers for those hth |

The Gripping Beast viking/dark age shields don't have rims and so their transfers are bigger than the Foundry Viking range shields. Not sure if that random information helps but you can see the difference on one of the LBMS Banner sheets (jomsvikings I think). It has smaller shield designs down the bottom and bigger ones up the sides along with banners. |
