I recently bought issue 360 of WI, supposedly themed around revolutions, and bizarrely, despite finding space to suggest various hypothetical possibilities, it fails to even mention The Mexican Revolution – never mind feature any material on gaming it. The owners of Old Glory, Pulp Figures, Brigade Games, and Gringo 40s would be justified in being somewhat annoyed.

Ay, ay, ay! Ese maldito bug!

I submitted an article for that issue, but the editor was more interested in pretty photos than content, he wanted new hi-res photos (which I didn`t have the time or inclination to do), hey ho :)

Thanks Richard for your attempt, I've long had a big interest in the MexRev, it's one of my biggest 28mm collections. Still have yet to find a set of rules I really like for it though.

The 'editor' (all these people seem to be semi-literate at best) also prioritised yet another introductory article about the AWI ahead of the as yet untouched Mex Rev.

I was already well aware that WI emphasises shine over substance, but after this issue I'll be giving serious thought to whether my occasional purchases of that journal should cease entirely. At the very least I'll be much more discerning.

20mm not being my preferred Mex Rev figure-size, I forgot to include EWM and Shellhole Scenics among the affronted manufacturers.

The present editor didn`t mince his words, he wants lots of pretty hi-res pictures. I explained I was unable to take such photos and surely original content was more important for the hobby (and i`ve submitted articles and sceanrios for all of the following) – Mex Rev, French colonial Africa 1908 & 1914, Rif War (1920s) plus Operation Torch, Syria/Lebanon and Tunisia (all less covered periods of WW2) & Spanish Sahara in the 1950s :( Never had an issue with Ian Dickie :(
