I am working on a Hampton Roads game for our club and have a number of Thoroughbred's fantastic 1/600 ships. But I'm not sure how to model or represent the 3 sailing ships involved--the St. Lawrence (frigate), the Congress (frigate), and the Cumberland (sloop). I know Bay Area Yards is no longer around and I don't think Peter Pig sells sailing ships. How could I model these? Does anyone sell Napoleonic-era 1/600 ships that could be re-purposed for 1862? No one at my club is going to look too closely if its not an exact match!

Try War Artizan, he makes paper models of sailing ships that look great when put together.

Thoroughbred sells a Mohican class steam sloop that has three masts. There is also a blockade runner. Neither has sails.

Yes, I intend to use the Thoroughbred steam sloop to represent the USS Minnesota and Roanoke. I'm considering the possibility of leaving the steam stack off and also using the same model for the three sailing ships.

Peter Pig does have some sailing ships.

Contact Steve at BAY. He is still selling… just not through the website.

Its a shame you only game in 1/600 as all the ships are available in 1/1200 .

Ditto to VirtualScratchBuilder. I've done more business with Bay since the site shut down than before.

Also, watch "600 ACW" and "600 civil" on eBay. Steve posts the occasional lot. There was a group of miscast 600s just on, but they were mostly Europeans.
