Easily adaptable to miniatures. I had a lot of fun with the WWII modules in the series. Basically, at the core of the game you manage your energy through a hand of actions. Hands vary with altitude and inherent engine power of your birds.

It is a light game and plays super fast (full 5 air missions campaign, 5 turns each in an afternoon). We played (for WWII) around 6-8 planes a side. More is possible, but it just takes proportionally more time.

I had a lot of fun playing the campaign of France recently, was glad to see an expansion to more modern era.

Really loved this game a lot. Played it for some time. Great to take on a trip as it doesn't take much space. Got tired of the abstractness after a while and went with Bag the Hun.
While abstract it did give a good game. I wrote several articles for C3I adding "chrome" for it. Glad to see Dan is expanding it.

Joe, we are planning with a friend to play a squadron campaign with pilots, rosters, possibility to become ace. Do you have any link where we can find rules for such a campaign?

repaint,
Not sure how to answer without looking like I am hawking my stuff. I wrote several articles in C3I in the first several years that would help. I don't know if Roger has placed any of the older stuff on line. I had an article how to kit out a squadron roster and going for ace status. If you can't find an index let me know and I can find the issue numbers for you.
I matured those ideas and wrote up a whole squadron/campaign generation system years later for miniatures. Had never thought about it till now but 80% of it would actually work for DiF. For example "poor wingman" I would just decrease his cards by 1 and give him a 33% of breaking formation. All the tables for missions and types/numbers of aircraft met would work fine. I won't give you a link to it as you might think I am hawking it. ( I dislike when people try to push their stuff on TMP. Mentioning is okay but don't push it!) If still interested after reading this let me know and I can explain more.
Cheers

Joe
PS If you have the DIF expansion pack one of the french fighter pilots is called "Legan". That is me. Roger was nice enough to name it after me for my contributions to the system.
