After watching Superman v Batman again, the dream sequence where Batman is in combat pants and a duster type coat got me thinking which superheroes and villains would fit well into a post apocalypse type world. I'm thinking that the high tech ones like Iron man would struggle, but the brawlers like Batman and the "Bat family" would work. So would the archers like Green Arrow, Hawkeye and Hunters. For villains Joker and Harley Quinn would seem to thrive on the chaos, and Bane would be a force to be reckoned with. Not to mention the Hulk. Who would you see in this kind of world, and how would their costumes change?

Batman is actually pretty high-tech. He would soon find himself riding a bat-horse instead of a batmobile, batplane, batboat, bad-ATV, bat-cetera, and Commissioner Gordon would have to rely on runners or pigeons instead of the bat-signal.

Superman is going to go meditate in his ice cave about how to reverse time to back and change things so that apocalypse doesn't happen. I think Dr. Strange will be doing the same thing in his Sanctum Sanctorum. They will both be fine after an apocalypse.

I think Batman works as a sort of steampunk hero with all kinds of gadgets. And steam engines were working to power road vehicles in the 1800s, although slow. Think about James West from Wild, Wild, West.

Many of Batmans gadgets are pretty low tech, a boomerang, a rope, and various gas and smoke effects. I think Batman would be just fine.

So if you can work in Victorian Tech, I think you can work in a post apocalypse. link

I disagree about Bane. If he can't get his Venom juice anymore, he's not so formidable.

Batman and Iron Man are both smart enough to work with whatever tech they have available. Remember: Tony Stark built his armor in secret while he was a POW (at least he did in the comics). If Reed Richards survived the apocalypse, he'll build a fusion reactor and have the lights back in on no time.
