Lazy to search: can it be used in 42-43 Burma?

Yes.

Anyone else having problems with these, instructions appear to be incorrect and turrets don't fit?

If you look above the tank body in green, which identifies it as the early model, should actually be red and blue for the later models. If you assemble this way you will have problems later.

Either way, the turrets don't seem to fit without a lot of work.

Just me?

instructions appear to be incorrect

Wouldn't surprise me. I haven't examined these in detail but there are frequently errors with the colour coding on these PSC instructions – also diagrams that don't match the actual sprue layout, sometimes no instructions at all etc, etc.

I haven't bought these yet but I seem to remember that on the PSC M5 kit the turrets are an extremely tight fit and I had to enlarge the turret ring slightly to get them to rotate with any freedom…

There is more info about the problems with this kit over at The Guild (if you are a member):

Apparently it is being looked into by PSC….

Anyone tell whether the insides of the tracks have been cleaned up since the PSC M5? This and the S-mod M3A3 have the track teeth as solid bars across each track link, which would make for a seriously bumpy ride…

I'm not planning on buying that set (I've got a dozen Stuarts already) but holy cow, if they duplicated a half dozen parts you'd get two tanks instead of one. Upper hull, turret, suspension, all the complicated stuff is doubled up. A little work with some sheet plastic and a tube for the gun barrel and you're all set. Kinda like a DIY BOGO sale.

If you refer to the pics in the OP you can see they are just the same. Not really something I would quibble about with a fast build kit, especially compared with the completely featureless track interiors of the earliest fast builds – but I can see why it might annoy some.

I could only get the turrets to fit on mine by completely carving away the locking ring. The guns are like telephone poles too, but I replaced them with turned brass one from RB and they look just fine. link

Yes, that is precisely the problem.

The guns are like telephone poles too…

I'm prepared to put up with somewhat overscale main guns for a bit of extra strength without the expense of resorting to metal. But I do draw the line at the enormous machine gun barrels and usually replace those.

The colour code on instructions are wrong. With a bit of scratch building you can make six tanks.
