It looks like Iyanden has the most useful benefit. I guess if you are going to have a bunch of very expensive elite troops as your basic guys that would be necessary. |

I argue it is Alaitoc and their -1 to hit outside of 12 inches. I play Adeptus Mechanicus Stygies and they have the same rule and it is devastating. Add that to Ranger which are already a -1 to hit and a +2 to cover and even marines will need to hit on a 5-6 and then the rangers will get a 3+ save. That is going to be a problem. |

But that doesn't save them in melee and melee is a big part of the game. It is very beneficial though and I hadn't thought about it in combo with the rangers. |

As Pictor said melee is where the Eldar get their collective butts handed to them. The exception being the Howling Banshees, Striking Scorpions and of course the Harlequins. However, if their initial round of hand to hand does not go well for them they are superfragilisticgettheirbuttstosted. It's late and I'm punchy. |
