If you are missing one figure to fill out a unit are you more likely to just buy a whole set to get one or find a way to make your own (convert, use a proxy, …)? This is assuming you don't discover the loss moments before the game requiring the mini starts. I used a chess knight temp tacked to a cavalry base for a mounted knight in an emergency once, but we're talking when you would have time to do either. I would probably convert one. |

I would order the correct figure and the extras go to the lead pile. How else would we have a lead pile? |

Ditto to Rally now. Sometimes an immediate solution is needed. In a recent giant Napoleonic game, the rules gave me an extra general in the middle of the game. All generals owned by the GM were in use so he gave me a piece of orange peel to use for the general :-) |

Don't sweat paper-strength. |

If it's a single figure on an element base, I might ignore it altogether. If it's a single figure that I needed, I'd adopt, adapt, recruit in that order. |

Convert. But then I'm on a fairly tight budget. |
