Anyone able to give a review of these campaign rules?

In particular, I enquire as to whether actions between fleets can be played out with models on the table with any set of galley rules, with the result being transferred back to the campaign rules.

Dear Alan

It has a very nice area to area map of the Eastern Med.

The game has 70 yearly turns from 1503 to 1573 for up to six nationalities. I haven't played it but I anticipate it would be a very long endeavour. The rules cover ship building, movement, the corso and piracy, battles, ports, sieges, storms and economics.

The battle rules are based on four models representing a squadron of eight galleys or galleases, and individual carracks. You could use any set of rules to play out the games. In addition there is a formula to calculate the outcome of a battle if you do not want to play it on the table top.

Cheers,
Bertie
