Interesting outcome. I have always argued, going back to my college days, that Britain was better off, having lost those colonies. They got all the economic benefits and didn't have to pay for their upkeep. Britain went on to be the richest nation in the world and the largest empire. Didn't seem to miss them much.

Nicely done and an excellent "alternative" history with plenty of believable twists and turns. Well done.

Actually, it was even better than that. The mis-management of the Thirteen Colonies provided us with a perfect blueprint of "how not to do it" and prevented similar mistakes from being made elsewhere in the future. The continued existence of the Commonwealth suggests that we didn't do so badly.
