Now I have shown this figure in his "Greenstuff stage", but tonight Ged has sent me the painted version. This is good, very good, I think. He does actually look like the "Great Thief of Europe". Not sure I have seen a better Napoleon in 28mm. I never paint eyes…because mine never work out like this. I love the shading around the reins. They will always be a solid chunk and hard to disguise that. Not sure about Napoleon's Cockade, looks gold to me rather than tricolour, but that is truly nit picking. Others have asked about his hands. Reins in right….not impossible. Left hand? I would leave it to the purchaser to maybe give him some Legion d'Honneur medals to hand out, or a map to work out where is Grouchy? What could he do with his left hand (that is appropriate for the internet)?

Just got several more pictures of him. Well worth showing I think….. this is skilled painting as well as sculpting. and the cockade is faultless after all!

Looks like tear streaks through the grime of battle – he's met his Waterloo! But a beautiful model. |

That's a brilliant representation. Belly, posture and facial representation brilliantly done. |

Must say I do agree. This is the Napoleon of Waterloo, rather than Austerlitz. Many commented on how his whole appearance had changed and aged |
