Any local attractions of interest to a wargamer – perhaps off the beaten track?

Also interested in good dog walking areas (for the less fit)

Any clubs that meet in an evening – I might be able to get to one

Have a walk/drive down some of the country lanes. You'll get a great idea of what bocage really looks like.

To be expected Darrell, nobody reads the post title correctly.

Another vote for Cobbaton. It includes kit from the (sadly) defunct Lamanva Military Museum in Cornwall and is certainly off the beaten track!

I bought my last ever tins of Airfix enamel from a shop in Woolacombe, but I suspect they have all gone now. I have one tin of M11 left…

If you are into model sailing ships, try Arlington Court (although I find model sailing ships creepy). It's got hundreds of the ruddy things.

Also, a visit to the Torrington Experience is a lot of ECW-based fun.

There is a fairly active wargames club in Ilfracombe, Stuart Barnes Watson puts on naval games there and knows others in the area. If you are interested it may be worth contacting him via his 1/1200 model ship dealership, "The Anchorage"
