I am researching what I need for a reservist Dutch Infantry for TY.

link
Armies army says that the Dutch Infantry used the YPR-765, the YPR-408 and the m113.

Okay, that is great (I have a box of FoW m113s collecting dust).

I then discovered this site and it's thoroughly researched OrBats.

This excellent site shows the m113 C & V being used in reconnaissance units. That looks very different from the American m113. These OrBats do not show any use of American m113s.

Did the Dutch use M113s during the Team Yankee period?

To my knowledge the regular fighting formations went from YP408 to YPR765.
The M113 M577 derivate was used with the artillery.

I visited the Dutch military museum earlier this year. I didn't see the standard M113 there, but they had a Dutch derivation of something called the M113 Lynx – it's here on Wikipedia

BTW that 8 wheeled APC of theirs ii a brutish looking thingg, you have to have some :)

The Dutch and Canadians both used the M113 1/2 C & R, which was an offshoot development by FMC. The main difference was the 25mm auto cannon used by the Dutch.

As a side note the U.S. trialled the Lynx but went with the M114 C & R from Cadillac which turned out a less successful vehicle.

Okay. I will have to use QRF's Dutch models.
That is a bummer. I already assembled my M113 platoon complete with aerials and beret wearing crewmen.
I will have to find a Team Yankee country that wore berets and drove m113s. Wait, the people IN the country…not the country itself.

freecloud13 Oct 2017 11:26 a.m. PST

Belgians and Danes both used M113

Out in 2 weeks if all goes well
