I came across an article regarding the authenticity of various newsreels made of Pancho Villa and the Mexican Revolution. It goes into some detail about what actually was arranged versus the "beliefs" about what what was arranged. It also explains why authentic war action shots were not made and describes two "movies" made of 1898 naval actions.

Not a period I know much about. However, what a great article! Well written & clearly closely researched, it sheds light on a fascinating aspect of the subject.

Indeed, I've bookmarked the Fortean site to get more of the same. Amongst all the dross posted on the website, this is a gem.
