"Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri has started construction of the second Italian Navy multipurpose offshore patrol ship (PPA). The steel-cutting ceremony took place on October 3 at the shipbuilder's Riva Trigoso, Genova, shipyard. The unit will be delivered in 2022 and is part of the Italian Navy vessel renewal plan which started in May 2015…"

i do not understand why waste tax payer money for developping a Navy which purpose is not to defend, in case of war, her country…and even mounting weapons on board..if her only orders and aims are to act as taxi drivers for illegal "immigrants" from African mediterranean shore to Europe |

Why does that long exposed drive shaft seem like a bad idea? You need to keep the hull shaped for hydrodynamics. And honestly, getting a torpedo under the hull is going to end the ship. |
