I plead the intensity of feeling over the question of Tango's dawghousing, and his own concern for my own. Certainly you can afford to be magnanimous.

He is also too much of a man to mention it but remember, he has undergone with the recent hurricane not just loss of all his war gaming and hobby possessions, but almost all his possessions period! He must have been under extreme stress living in cramped temporary space, and not knowing what will become of his life. I also have no proof but suspect he has serious health issues. I know he would never bring this up, but I will.

Surely this must mitigate in some way whatever he has done.

He has been strangely over the top in those recent topics, I'd assume the temporary blocking is a chance for him to calm him down before he goes to far.

I'd guess that his recent personal problems may be at the route of his recent behaviour and I hope we see a quick return since he posts some interesting stuff.

Agreed. CC is one of the gems of TMP, and has suffered flood damage in the bargain.

But I don't think anyone should be DH'd without a bill of particulars--what exactly they did, and what rule this violated.

John… you know I like you… and I respect you… but as well as surely you understand the passion of the hobbie, which is at all a feeling … you should also have to understand the feelings of the people who participate in TMP … towards our fellow members … the good as the bad ones … in the case of CC those who like him…. as myself… can not avoid to show our support and even beg for a decrease in their grief … maybe … one day… you would be the next to achieve such a positive attitude … even if you reject it(smile).

The only "private" thing between Bill and his Editors and people here is via PM … the rest is public … therefore it is natural that supports and rejections arise … at least for a few that seem to stand out from the rest for various reasons …

It is not wrong to show openly a sympathy for a fellow member … it is wrong the agression, the malicious criticism, persecution, insult, rejection without a firm motive and of course excessive contempt … all this is here unfortunately and I not hear so many condemnations for this as to support a dear friend of the forum.

Hopefully in the future many more supports of this type will emerge and not so many malicious criticisms … because if we are going to raise our banner every time someone decides to show sympathy and positive feelings towards a fellow member … we also have to raise them when others commit acts of aggression without foundation … one is always a warrior … or it is not …

Another voice in favor of CC. I don't always agree with him, but he's a great guy and passionate. I fear that the way things are going, we'll run out everyone on this site before too long.

I'd rather see more friendly reminders and helping hands than calls for the rules are the rules, consequences be darned.

I'm not even sure what happened, but I'll echo TGerritson: the crowd of "good blokes" has gone down significantly these past years, and it would be a shame to lose another.

It also sounds as though CC has gone through a great deal of stress lately, what with hurricane damage, etc. Unless I'm missing a piece in the puzzle (definitely possible!) it seems some mercy here wouldn't hurt.

Untill yesterday… Editor Gwen didn't contact CC… hope she did it soon…

Dan has agreed to let me impart the following:

He has received PM's from Gwen, but when he tries to reply,he gets the "An error has occurred" message.

Bill recently changed the coding to render the PM function inoperable for those with locked accounts. Apparently,this was not to be so for those in "temporarily locked" status.

If that is the case, it seems not to be working properly.

On a personal note, although Dan had asked me not to start a "Free CC" thread, that's now moot,so I will add my name to the list of those who want him back.

Well, it looks like I'm back!

The 31-day vacation was fun and relaxing. I even came back with a nice golden tan and a fresh outlook.

I want to thank those who spoke well of me here, or that at least gave me the benefit of the doubt. I won't forget you guys. So, in the coming days I'll be putting up a few items for sale in Marketplace, and you guys will get a 20% break off the price on each lot. Look for that later this week.
