I dug out my copy of Raptorz by Two Hour Wargames, and I think I'd like to give it a shot. Does anyone know a good source for 28mm alien bugs? I'm looking to avoid GW 'stealers and 'gaunts, not only because of the price but because I'd like something that looks different. (Plus, I already have enough Tyranids as it is). I plan on using my Defiance UAMC marines for the good guys, and I will need a fair amount of bugs as opposition. I'd have no problem using Xenomorphs, but the old Leading Edge stuff is tough to come by and the new Aliens game is a bit too pricey to buy just for the figures. Suggestions? |

Are the plastic/rubber thingies from craft stores/Wallyworld out of bounds? Masses of them would be cheap,at least. |

I have been working on a starship troopers game with bugs. Looking for good rules. I have never seen reference to that raptorz game, where is it? |

Defiance put out a set of bugs. They seemed kinda fiddly to assemble ? Haven't seen them on ebay, though. |

The nice thing about Bugs is that they can be scaleless. The only problem I have with store bought bugs is that they are almost always that rubber stuff and not plastic. Rebel Minis has been mentioned. Mantic Games has been mentioned. Tyranids has been mentioned. Puppets War has been mentioned. Monsterapocalypse if you can find it on ebay. Khurasan has some but their store is currently closed Reaper has some interesting Bones creatures Who makes those "hoversled/brainbug" looking bug tanks for 25mm? |

Thanks, all. Some good suggestions here, especially like the Puppets War and Rebel Minis…but I was hoping for something cheap. Upon reflection, I'm going to use Heroclix Brood minis. I forgot I had a ton of these!
Bobgnar: Raptorz is a Space Hulk type game using a stripped-down version of THW's engine. Ed the Two Hour Wargames Guy could probably give you specifics, but if you're interested it's available at Wargames Vault as a download. link |

Piper has it pretty well covered on Raptorz. For a SST Bug type game there's one coming to Kickstarter later this year we us and Acheson Creations. It's 15mm, but if I were a 28mm figure I'd still not want to run into them. Will have some excellently done tunnels as well. When it's close I'll post some Bat Reps for the rules and minis. Here's a preview of the Bugs. Warrior and Puker types. link Size compared to the larger 18mm Grath coming out as well.

If you're in the states troll your stores for Halloween bugs, they're cheep rubber/soft plastic, but with a wash and spray priming they paint up fine. And if one takes a tumble off the table or get taken by a friend's house cat, it's no skin off your nose. |

Crazyivanov Good idea and this is the time of the year to go searching. |
