So watching first episode of discovery.
And therewa bunch of fanatical uruks doing mischief.

And why do they always feel the need to Bleeped text with canon?
If they wanted to make fancy looking effects and making the ships super high tech. Than set the series AFTER TNG universe not before.

And isn't this supposed to be around the time of TOS?
Why oh why Bleeped text with the time line. The history of trek from TOS to the end of TNG universe is well set. There isn't room to Bleeped text with it.

This is like Enterprise meets JJ verse.

Because it's a fictional television show, not a documentary.

I've seen some suggestion it's a result of them piggybacking off the licence agreed to allow the making of the abramstrek movies, so while they can use names they are not permitted to use designs from previous series.

But seriously dude, let it go. They have made it abundantly clear if you liked old Star Trek your face isn't welcome any more.

They certainly did. I stopped following ST after the first movie. I'm not a big fan of Abrams overall.

We did have fun watching Discovery in a bar with the sound off while poking fun at the orks in gold warhammer fantasy armor.

Then they shouldn't have made the series instead of taking a giant diarrheaic Bleeped text on the Canon and franchise.
Why call it star trek when there is no star trek in it.

Why not?

Cannot say I have watched any of the series in full except for the original and the first set of movies.

The original.

Agreed. A sad ending to Star Trek.

Winston Smith04 Oct 2017 9:21 a.m. PST

"Canon"? In Star a Trek?
That was thrown under the bus 3 movies ago.

Gunfreak Supporting Member of TMP04 Oct 2017 9:40 a.m. PST

There was nothing wrong with Star Trek Generations. A bit boring but nothing wrong Canon wise.

No Jar Jar Binks?

Yet give it time.

It's a big ST Galaxy … So they could write in and write out many races. E.g. Did we ever see much of the blue skinned aliens with antennas, the Andorians in TNG ? As we saw in the original ST and prequel series Enterprise.
