Hey Guys which do you prefer, the Mantic Walking dead game or the Warlord Zombies game. Which is better for solo or 1 to 1 and which is better for muti players. |

I can't speak at all about Mantic's Walking Dead. But I have had loads of fun with Warlord's Project Z. I think Project Z is best as 1 vs 1 with the system controlling the Zombies. But I have had a few fun games playing it solo, my gang/group vs Zombies. As I said, I don't know Walking Dead, but Project Z does not have a campaign system if that is something your looking for. Every game is just a "pick up game". Though the game is simple enough to devise a system of your own. |

Forgive me for doing what I profess to hate when people do it to me: Have you looked at All Things Zombie by Two Hour Wargames? ATZ is designed for solo, cooperative or head-to-head. It has campaign rules and can be learned very quickly. I highly recommend it. |

Hmm. Which is that insurance commercial where an agent says that their policies cover zombie apocalypse? I think filing zombie apocalypse claims should be part of the game then. You could have the adjust or go out and dodge zombies on the way to your house and, once at your place, see if he then acts all aloof and unmoved when the hordes start coming in his direction. Dan EDIT – Found a picture from that commercial:

I prefer the Two Hour Wargame rules. Head to head, co=operative or solo….it works. |

Mantic and Warlords zombie games are both enjoyable. Project Z is way cheaper that Walking Dead. But personally I prefer All Things Zombie my favourite Zombie game. But I'm still playing the Project Z and Walking Dead too. For me Project Z is more killing zombie game, when Walking Dead is more about stealth and sneaking. |

Haven't played Walking Dead. I didn't care for Project Z. The rules were available for free download from the Warlord website so you can read them first. I prefer ATZ. |

I have played both, and they have a different feel. Mantic's All Out War captures well the comic/tv show. Being quiet helps. Noises attract zeds. And you can play solo without issue (special solo rules actually included int he Woodbury supplement). You can play co-op against the system too. If you are a fan of the show, or any zombie movie you ahve ever seen, and like the idea of scavenging for supplies while trying not to be taken out by zeds or a rival gang, this is a fun game. Warlord's Project Z is much more of a modern-day post-apoc skirmish game, where there just happens to be some Zeds as a third force to deal with. Noise means nothing, so shoot all you want. It also lacks a campaign mode of play, so if one-off games of gang warfare are your thing, this is the game for you. Does NOT capture any movie or tv show with zombies you have ever seen, because there is no "noise" component. It was fun, but IMHO not as fun as All Out War. Project Z would greatly improve if it had a campaign system. It cries out for one. |

There is a homemade campaign system for Project Z on it's BoardGameGeek page. I have not looked at them yet myself so can't comment on them. Project Z has a reload system that keeps characters from just blazing away with their guns. After firing you have to pass a reload check before you can fire again. |
