I see they are using their "Super Dungeon Explore" personalities Candy and Cola and putting versions of them into the mix here.

Oddly enough, those are the only ones here I'm likely to buy, and one of my groups is starting Starfinder soon.

Limited Editions based on art from the book? Why is that a good idea?

No idea. My guess is that this is more for marketing the game at the time of the game's release than creating miniatures for it. fwiw, Reaper and WizKids were offered licensing rights before this company. Does the creator explain what Limited Edition means? For all we know, Reaper or WizKids could release their own version of the iconics at a later date. Reaper has released Pathfinder mini's in Bones plastic, as does WizKids, so metal would be attractive to some miniature enthusiasts. I prefer Reaper's KS track record over Ninja Division, but ND still has a good-ish KS reputation?
