I'll try again1 I just noticed this book for the first time today – link – has anyone read it and is it any good?

I have it and have read it. There's nothing in here new or surprising and it really does not tell you in a "how- to- do" way the methodology. If you want to rehash the historical accounts once again have at it, but at 19 pounds it's a bit steep.

Frankly I think, though Dupuy does not say this verbatim, he says "get lucky." What that means is that as the Athenian Envoys said to the Spartans, "Remember while there is still time the inscrutable nature of war and how when prolonged, the affair often ends as a matter of mere chance."

His point is little more than husband your resources, plan better and wait for a chance.
