Does anyone know if the British regiments in the Crimean War used the same facing colors as in the Napoleonic period? It's a bit hard to find information on the former but trivial for the latter.

Regards,
Tom

The Osprey The British Army of the Crimea has a chart which shows, essentially, the same colours as the Napoleonic period.

If you're in a rush or don't want to buy the book, you can find it on Google books here:

Thanks much! I own the British Army on Campaign Osprey for The Crimea but it doesn't touch on facings. The other Osprey's are out of print except in ebook format and I wasn't sure how the various color prints would show in black and white. In that I really just need the facing colors the google book link is perfect.

No worries.

What figures are you using? Foundry 25s, Warlord 28s, Eureka 18s or something else?

Eureka 18s. I'm going to "repurpose" my French from the FPW and then paint the Russians so that I can do the Crimean. Eventually I'll do some Austrians, Turks, and Italians and that will allow me to do all the major (no disrespect to the Schleswig-Holstein War) European conflicts from 1854 to 1877.

They are lovely figures. Good luck with the project. I've a hankering to do some forces for the Crimea too.
