I think this is based on comic book cover art – I forget by who but I remember seeing the image. Incredible figures I really like this model |

I think the original artist was Frazetta. |

Where's the Conan figure??? Oh yeah… now I see it. Nice composition. Not really rateable as just as Samnite says it's a derivation from cover art. |

Nicely done. I do sometimes wonder, though. Not that I'm speaking from experience, but I'd have expected that when you swing a girl over your shoulder and run off with her, the hair would not remain neatly combed. However, all the pictorial evidence is against me. |

No, if you just drop down, plant your shoulder in her gut, wrap your arm around her thighs, and stand up, her hair will be just fine. Your hair, on the other hand, will get pulled because she'll grab it to keep her balance. |

I'm not aware of any Frazetta that follows that pattern; possibly a Kelly or Vallejo, though I may be wrong? From memory it's not even authentic Howard, whose heroines (or supporting ladies) were expected to run on their own two feet or be consumed by the beastie du jour. Writing nearly 20 years later, Carter and de Camp put a slightly different slant on our hero. It's nonetheless a very fine interpretation of the trope; well done, Tango01! |
