However, I think that we should now discuss the assault!!
The north west side is out. The bridge and stream would tend to channel any decent attack. The southwest and northwest facings offer no chance beyond scaling ladders, which makes heavy equipment impossible to bring in.
So that leaves the Main Gate on the southeast facing. Saps forward until a breach is made on the gate. In the mean time, heavy mortars pound the inside fort into submission, hopefully breaching a wall. Rush in with grenadiers and explosives, who can get in under the guns and the position is taken.
Maybe 2 months at most…

Hahaha it's fine !

it is clear that I am not looking for historical reality, it is simply to play or collectible. If you want to see real models forts, can be seen at museums.
