Hi

New Black Powder supplement now out on the 1812 campaign. Any one got it yet and if so recommendations / what do you think?

Mine arrived and I'm delighted with its contents and gaming advances for the Napoleonic period-well done Ady/Warlordgames

Mine arrived yesterday, but I haven't had a chance to flip through it yet.

But the absence of hype or even much discernible marketing makes me nervous. Maybe this kind of thing is just unremarkable: if you like Black Powder already, Warlord had done the work of sprinkling Russia flavoring over it for you.

I like the Warlord freebie better than the Perry one:

I was thinking of getting some Austrians and doing some earlier coalition battles Austerlitz, Wagram etc. I know this book is specifically for Russia and 1812 conflict, but does it have enough national flavour for the Russians and Austrians to make it worth while for 1805 onward ? Or is that supplement#4 ?

Can't confirm, but I don't think so. Organization, morale, troop quality, uniforms, even campaign locations all differ dramatically.

Guys I feel Clash of Eagles has for me gaming wise added to BP more real meat on the toolkit bones. Having such a wide range of army stat lists for the other Nations that didn't fight in the Pennisula is a big thing for me being more a continental European Napoleonic gamer. Austrians are the last main army I have to create ,so now I splash the cash !!!
Regarding hype I'm not too worried as most rules dont generate much theses days or much that lasts ,so we are just too spoiled for choices 😃

I know this is an old thread, but I picked up a copy of Clash of Eagles recently. I'm really pleased with the book, I don't really have any 1812 armies, but it's a nice start for 1813 armies. The only thing noticeably absent for playing Austrians is named commanders and a stat line for Landwehr.

I have found quite a few typos and page references that are incorrect which drives me nuts.

Also, I think the layout of the book is lacking. It's not easy to find all of the rules for a given nation in one place.
