If you aren't happy with minor historical inaccuracies on your figures, be glad those problems aren't as public as this one: link I can imagine many Russian rivet-counters needed medical assistance after discovering this one. |

OMG. To the Gulag! Seriously, if this had happened during the Cold War, that German rifle wouldn't be the only thing made to disappear. Dan |

WOW. At least Stalin isn't still calling the shots. I can't imagine a less fortunate choice in swap-outs. It's good to know some Russians are also ridiculously stupid, too. |

Naw, in the USSR they would have just claimed that the Germans stole the design from them. "Vas Russian inwention," as Ensign Chekov might say.

Lo how the mighty have fallen. As Cacique and the beast note, the Russians have become real wimps. In the bad old days a whole new Gulag would have to be built for the persons at fault on this one. |
The Beast Rampant | 22 Sep 2017 2:49 p.m. PST |
Stalin would have made a cozy little nook for him under the plinth. "Do you hear something, comrade?" |

It came from the internet. |

Incompetent cobblers just go to a new level (this picture is just left one of the first when asked in Google). |

If Stalin would have been in power three people would have gone to the gulag: the sculptor, for sabotage against the Socialist rodina; the person that spotted it and dare to denounce it, for sabotage against the rodina; and the worker that withdraw the offending scultp, to impede him to talk about sabotages against the rodina. |

And you can be sure if Uncle Joe was in power, no one outside of Moscow would have heard about it! |

Y'all really long for the "good ole days" don't ya? Ain't living in the USA, now that we are movin' backwards at the rate of about a year or two a week, good enough for ya? You REALLY wish Stalin was still alive to show those p*ssy Russians what it means to screw up a monument, to a damn gun? SMFH… |
The Beast Rampant | 23 Sep 2017 1:20 p.m. PST |
Quite reactionary, Ceterman. I'm just keeping alive the notion that the terrifying novel 1984 was not a work of fiction by any comfortable margin, in light of the fact that American Kids aren't taught just how evil the USSR was, if they are taught anything about it at all. It all SOUNDS so cartoonishly outlandish- wouldn't it be nice if it was all just sick humor? We should live in such a world. |

American Kids aren't taught __________ (fill in the blank)(!) |
Ceterman | 23 Sep 2017 2:59 p.m. PST |
It time to be "reactionary" Beast. I KNOW how evil they were/are. And in the Grand Scheme of things, I also KNOW we ain't much, if any better. Probably worse, now. Sorry, that's just how I see it. Especially now. And yes, it would be nice to live in the world you describe… |
Lion in the Stars | 25 Sep 2017 2:52 a.m. PST |
The problem isn't that people aren't reading 1984, Ceterman. The problem is that they're taking it to be instructions for how to proceed! |

Lion in the Stars, ABSOLUTELY… |
