There's an anthology of Philip K Dick inspired/adapted dramas out. link Watched The Hood Maker last night, felt right for Dick's work, and nicely atmospheric, but I can't speak for the quality of the adaption as its not one his stories I've read. Probably available internationally via Amazon. |

@Doubelsix Assuming it was Impossible Plant, I thought it was good, again not a story I'm familiar with, so I did check out a review of the original story afterwards. So yeah, apparently some changes to the plotline, though essentially it was just tossing in one of Dick's major themes! The 'happy ending' was a slight surprise – but then there were some flagging that all may not be as it was perceived… I liked the dystopian, shallow, consumer society run amuck, lead in, again very Dick (with possibly a hint of Hitchhikers?) and probably still quite contemporary comment in many ways. A Very Mild Spoiler Alert! Have to say I assumed the robot was going to murder Andrews which probably says a lot about contemporary sci-fi and its portrayal of robots! Also ended up wondering whether or not the spaceship was actually a spaceship and if it actually left dock…probably a good response to watching something derived from Dicks work to question whether what were told was 'real'. |
