Hello again all,
A friend asked why I had used the human type vehicles for my Serpentia & I replied I would build snake men specific ones.
Well here's my wip on them.

2 sizes of washing m/c drain pipes ( just look at the lovely internal detail on the grey pipe )
Top of a plastic bottle ( to fit hose to front piece )
A lemon juice cap ( rear hatch )
Scratchbuilt front piece. ( plaster of paris & card )

I will need to add light & heavy weapons next

unusual but great.

Thanks G,
I will post more wip & finished pics as soon as I finish them.Obviously they will have much more detail.

Unfortunately too many projects at the same time.

Genius idea. I'd say you need a larger diameter pipe for an APC to fit the armoured snake though.

"just look at the lovely internal detail on the grey pipe"

Too right! Wish I had an idea of how to use that detain. *sigh*

So this is supposed to be the vehicle? At first, I assumed it would be attached to/extending from something a bit more traditional.

I would have suggested at least giving it a bit of S-shape to lift the forward piece off the ground, and attach to a larger body for balance.

Or not. Like I should give YOU suggestions… ;->=

Hello again,
Doug
re " Wish I had an idea of how to use that detail" you could always use a piece of milliput to make a press mould and use it to make iris type door frame or windows.

re "Like I should give YOU suggestions" ,
I'd honestly be offended if you didn't ;).
What's the use of asking for feedback if you can't take it ? ( reminded of the phrase " if you can't take the heat don't stay in the kitchen " from the first Robocop. Classic !!!

How about this then?

picture

I imagine the vehicle would emulate the creature's movement & that it moves by turning the outer shell to create slithering forward motion. The troops would be harnessed round the circumference.

The pipe will have to be hot glued or similar to the base as it has a mind of its own.I could also bend it on a template & fill it with exp foam. That should hold its shape.

So I would extend the head to have a flexible outer shell like that of a centipede. Flexi Armour.

Please DO GIVE feedback :)
Thanks

Wow! Unbelievable vision as always.

Dan
PS. Where is the window piece from?

zrunelord25 Dec 2017 3:39 p.m. PST

Thanks Dan,glad you liked them.
You're too kind.
Hope you had a good Christmas.
The window is simply a peice of card with the centre bit punched out with an ID card slot punch tool.Like this one found on Amazon. The good thing is that it can take up to around 2mm thick card or pvc ( e.g old credit cards ).

All the best for 2018.

Good to say also that credit card material is great for building stuff ( just remember to shave off magnetic strip & signature for security reasons)
The embossed numbers can also be shaved off & used in builds or to emboss putty numbers.

I wasnt sure if like it…until I saw the grey base coat version prepped. I really like it.

You should cast these and sell them.

zrunelord28 Dec 2017 8:59 a.m. PST

Welcome Dan.
You should get one for sure.
Glad you like them Twoball.
To tell you the truth ,I had to cast the cabin in resin in order to have repeatability.
No a perfect job as i cast by hand but quite good for me.

I do not think it is worth the trouble to cast the body as a) the pipe is dirt cheap b) one would have to do several moulds to have different ones.

Sell them? Nah!! bartering is possible though.

If like them so much & want to have a go at making your own
Just send me an email at zrunelord at gmail dot com & we'll see what can be done.
