There is now a chrome extension that fixes the Photobucket nonsense of not showing images. link If you use chrome as your browser and install this fix, all those lost images will magically appear again. It only fixes it for your browser, not everyone else's but better than nothing and totally free. :-) |

Photobucket overplayed their hand. I could possibly live with the excessive ads and slow speeds. But they've gone to far and i doubt they'll live long. I now simply use my blog or Facebook to upload pictures. |

Quite right Gunfreak, I hope Photobucket sinks like a stone and is never seen again. It is taking me ages to re-do all the photos on my blog. Dave. |

I went to Imageshack, as they were recommended by TMP years ago, when I joined this forum. They did once have a disaster, after a hacking incident and are not the free set-up they once offered, but the annual subscription is not massive. Facebook is a mystery to me. Sometimes I can view images no problem…… other times I must log in and, immediately then, all these weird folk wish to be my friend and Eastern European ladies offer marriage, or associated services. |

I went to Imageshack as well. |

I used imageshack years ago. But it got slow and full if adds. That's when I moved to photobucket (it didn't have a lot of adds back then) |

I switched to Flickr. No issues. |

Photobucket is dead to me. I use Flickr, it is easier to use to boot. |

I've switched to Flickr too, the point is this will fix all the old links that have already been posted using Photo-bucket in the past. I can't see Photobucket lasting much longer, with so many people offering the same service for free, and after all the bad publicity, but even if they get bought out the old links will probably still be supported for a bit. |

I am no longer using Photobucket either. I wonder how this is working out for them so far. |

I pay for imageshack. It's been very reliable and they have a nice mobile apps for uploading. I also use GoogleDrive, FB, and I suppose I could use Flickr. |

Imageshack is far better now that you pay for it….and I think it is very good value. No ads and instant access. Once that disaster was resolved a few years ago, anyway. Again I know nothing of such things but, back in the day, this forum recommended them. |

I use blogger and post images from my blog. TMP should host the images here. It's too hard to post images here for many people. And not everything I would like to post is on my blog. I hate it when someone posts a TMP link and says, those figures / terrain / tanks were discussed here two years ago, and the link is full of no longer hosted images. Storage costs are cheap now, I don't see a reason not to host here anymore. Mike Bunkermeister Creek bunkermeister.blogspot.com |

I use Photobucket and I admit that their ad's are rather invasive. They also had big problems for some months this year in which I lost some files and some links had broken but I still use it without (apart from what I say above), I have thousands of images stored on it and don't have problems posting on here or another site that I frequent. Has anyone tried Google pictures? |
HappyHiker | 24 Sep 2017 3:22 a.m. PST |
I think it's difficult to post a link from google pictures, though I've not tried it for a while. |

Firefox extensions are available as well--they completely fix the problem. |

If this "fix" (the initial post) is allowing some users to bypass or override PB's process and paywall, won't PB just find a way to block this "fix" as soon as it can? So what will be the point? I switched to VGY.ME based on this article, in part: link PB needs to rot in the slime they made of their business. I hope everyone with any sense dumps them and all their smart executives have to sell apples on street corners. |

Blogger is what I use very good. |

Blogger is what I use very good. Same. As I was just linking to photos in my Photobucket account anyways things just got a little easier. |

They have just put a gun to my head by blocking 3rd party hosting. I now have to pay $399 USD per year to have the hosting un-blocked to all my forums. I go to my account page and can't even see my own pictures thus I'm ed. But It gets better….I can't even pay to get the '500' upgrade as all I keep getting is "Photobucket cannot contact gateway at this time". I might add that adblocker is disabled. I'm ing furious to say the least |
