I'm looking to get a miniatures painting book, a top-level guide to paint figures at the highest level. I want something that will really push me.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I rather like the Foundry painting guide:

Painting Wargaming Figures by Javier Gomez Valero (as in Benito's link above) is very good.

The Kevin Dallimore / Foundry books are out of print and hence are expensive and hard to find now.

What kind of figures are you painting?

I am assuming you are looking at 28mm.

Do you want book form or would you like video form?

Anything by Shepard Paine

I like Painting Wargaming Figures by Javier Gomez Valero. I wouldn't call it painting at the highest level but it's still well painted models and it's achievable.

Angel Giraldez Masterclass book for Infinity are what I'd put as the highest level out of my painting books. He uses a lot of different techniques like airbrushing, non metallic metal, blending. However I never felt I could get close to his level and the book stays in the bookshelf instead of by my painting desk.

Not a book but have a look at Games Workshops youtube channel. They do painting guide videos that will get you good results fairly easily and you can transfer the wash and layer technique to non GW models.

Thanks for all the recommendations guys, much appreciated!

I'll have a look at all of the suggestions and I'm sure I'll find one there.

I don't mind videos but I'm much more of a 'cup of coffee and a book' guy, so I stick to paper mainly…
