G'Day Gents

How about Indiana Jones and Rick O'Connell teaming up together…hunting for a tomb..or lost Egyptian artifact

with:

O Legionnaire Beni Gabor

O Legionnaire Mad Dog

O Izzy the Pilot

O Sallah as a sidekick for Indian Jones

What about the woman?

How about me and Evie?

How far is it from Tannis to Hamenaptrah? And which of them was Warehouse 2? And if Izzy isn't available, perhaps Pat O'Malley could be the pilot. Certain periods and places are overflowing with adventure.

But yes, certainly some females.

Well…

In 1926 it is possible for Marion (with Jones) and Evie (with Rick) to be together in a group…

Perhaps Professor Abner Ravenwood would be long…

Jones and Abner are in Jerusalem in 1926…but by sometime in 1927 Jones and Marion have a falling out…

Of course you have

O Amelia Earhart – pilot

O Beryl Markham – pilot

O Freya Stark – Not a pilot but in December of 1927 she was in Beirut

But that means that Beni Gabor was already eaten by the bugs…

…and Pat O'Malley is with one of the female pilots…

Of course Captain Winston Havelock could be prior to 1926 ;-)

I could see them in a group like Popski's Private Army, raiding Ahnenerbe sites in Sicily and Italy. They could also be dropped in Anvil-Dragoon with the Devil's Brigade.

In that case…

Indiana Jones partner George "Mac" McHale should tag along…

…and now a women's team to join Indiana Jones and Rick O'Connell:

Gertrude Caton Thompson and Kathleen Kenyon work together from 1928 to 1929…

Gertrude Caton-Thompson led an all female excavation of the famous ruins at Great Zimbabwe, Southern Rhodesia….who knows where the all female team was before that…or how many were in the team…

You know, as we keep to the 1920's the cast for the Richard Chamberlain "Quartermain" movies becomes feasible. Add James Earl Jones' Umslopagas as token male/native guide to the Caton-Thompson team? (Hey! They were decent movies at an RPG level.)

And in real life, Richard Meinertzhagen is floating around Africa and the Middle East in this period, tracking down spies and terrorists and chasing butterflies.

Art17 Sep 2017 10:45 a.m. PST

Quartermain…yes indeed…and his girlfriend Jesse Huston (Sharon Stone)…with Umslopogaa of course…and Swarma, a spiritual guru, and five Askari warriors, must accompany them !

Of course Meinertzhagen retired in 1925…and was reinstated as a lieutenant colonel in 1939…so he can surely go around chasing butterflies and diamonds…still making maps…why he may have even found a lost map…and continues writing in his diary ;-)

And Anne his wife who he had a cold relationship with…came alone to prove he was a fraud… -they both drink ;-)

But don't forget about the lasting relationship with Tess Clay and Richard…even though she was more than three decades his junior….she came along as Anne's assistant ;-)

Of course later in 1928, three months after the birth of Randle, Anne was killed, aged 40, at her birth village of Swordale.

The finding, ruled in court, was that she accidentally shot herself in the head with a revolver during target practice alone with Richard.

Of course it was speculated that in fact, she was murdered by Meinertzhagen, out of fear that she would expose him and his fraudulent activities. Actually she was caught reading out a page in his diary ;-)

Or maybe she was using it as target practice ;-)

In a game the team up would fun. Not so much in a film, as both characters would be diluted.

Art18 Sep 2017 11:53 a.m. PST

Of course you are right…only in a game would it be fun to team them all up…

But with that thought…we forgot three important characters (well two at least)…

O Jonathan Carnahan…brother to Evelyn

O Ardeth Bay…and only if it's the end of the world type mission ;-)

O Mohammed Afifi the hangman…he joins up to avenge the dead of Warden Gad ;-)

O Of course diggers and various locals need to come along and be fodder for the mummy and creatures to kill ;-)

Art18 Sep 2017 12:34 p.m. PST

And now the mission:

Save the world…

Find the Book of Thoth, a legendary book containing powerful spells and knowledge…supposed to have been written by the god Thoth…said to have been buried with the Prince Neferkaptah…who is a mummy protecting the book…

(Egyptian mythology)

WEll….

It would seem that Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) has a brother…

His brother's name is Harry Steele (Charlton Heston)…

"Harry Steele, can be seen wearing the "Indiana Jones" outfit: brown leather jacket, fedora, tan pants, an over-the-shoulder bag, and revolver.."

"Secret of the Incas"…

The movie is a 1954 adventure film starring Charlton Heston as adventurer Harry Steele…

"on the trail of an ancient Incan artifact. Shot on location at Machu Picchu in Peru, the film is often credited as the inspiration for Raiders of the Lost Ark."

Looks like I need two figures with fedoras now ;-)
