Looking to add some New York Militia Cavalry to my collection. While no one that I know makes a dedicated figure I am looking for suggestions on which figures could be used. Need a high collar and a darker in style helmet. My figures are 25mm mostly knuckleduster. Thank you for your help!

Old GLory sells US dragoons, in helmets, in their War of 1812 line. |

Old Glory 25's has some NY Dragoons in their 1812 range -- 7th NY Dragoons, the exact uniform you are looking for. |

To add to S&S, they are nice figures and paint up pretty well like most of the figures in the OG War of 1812 range. |

For 15/18mm I used Blue Moon's ARW Tarleton troopers for my NY cav. Also note that most other state militia cavalry used the same uniform/figures. The NY dragoons were unique in that they had red coats while most state militia had blue coats (or a mish-mash of uniforms/civilian outfits for the poorly equipped). |

Meant AWI (American War of Independence) not AWR (American Revolutionary War). |

Another nifty militia unit: the Boston Hussars. Normal Hussar figures can be used, except that the shako has a puffy sort of plume. See link ( about 1/3 down the page ) . |

Better yet the New Orleans militia that was dressed up as Old Garde! |
