Can anyone please tell me if these ranges are compatible, either within the same unit or separate units in the same army? I have Front Rank figures at present and am looking to expand and the Crusader Russians caught my eye. They look quite compatible in the photos I've seen but wanted to check with anyone who has them 'in the flesh'.
Thanks in anticipation

I have both in my SYW imagi-nations forces. They work well together in separate units on the battlefield but I've never tried them together in the same unit.

Here's a comparison post on my blog: link

Painting Wargame Figures Blog has some units with Crusader rank and file and a few Front Rank officers in the same unit.

Here a few links for comparison:

My opinion is the same as ColCampbell – work well as separate units.

I use both. But like discussed, they are best in separate units.

Thanks guys, that's all very helpful. I think I'll go with separate units for each manufacturer though the odd officer and such wouldn't look out of place by the look of things.
Thanks again.

For whatever reason, the Front Rank infantry and Crusader infantry work reasonably well together.
The Crusader cav is noticeably smaller than the Front Rank cav.

I have both and use them in different units

The Crusader cavalry are indeed a lot smaller than Front Rank – or Foundry – or just about anyone's
