Gothic Horror is one of those nebulous terms of literature and media, but for purposes of the poll, let's go with a general sense of things that fit in the dark-side of Romanticism. What is your favorite type of Gothic Horror to use in miniature gaming? If there are other types that you use, or would like to use on the tabletop, please add suggestions. * Coven Witches * Cultists * Cursed Souls (Headless Horsemen, etc) * Evil Circus * Gargoyles * Ghouls * Ghosts * Golems (Frankenstein) * Mad Science Experimentees * Mummies * Vampires * Voodoo-esque Zombies * Werewolves * Other, please describe * Some mix of the above * All of the above * No opinion * No interest in Gothic Horror gaming |

Probably witches, but my opinion might change seven years hence when this actually gets posted as a poll. |

I enjoy using cultists as the perennial baddie. |

Add in demons and degenerate families descending down the evolutionary tree. "…Curse you, Thornton, I'll teach you to faint at what my family do!" I've seen some impressive miniatures for Frankenstein monsters that are the non-Karloff variety. |

My various sets of cultists hit the table during my Call of Cthulhu games more often than any of the other baddies. |

Two categories. You could have one without the other. How about: Evil monks Mad noblemen Over-zealous witch-finders Black-hooded torturers / executioners |

I like a mix. I particularly like having baddies fight each other, not only is this really interesting, but every casualty makes me happy. |

Cultists/Minions are important. That would include possessed/controlled animals and Voudon zombi for me. The Revenant – an undead back for revenge. All the people who know what's going on don't want to talk about it. That makes for good tension. The Serial Killer – Is Jack the Ripper not the quintessential Victorian boogeyman? Tragic Figure Ghosts – I like to have ghosts that you have to figure out how to help, while not being killed by them. Don't forget the Mad Scientist, too! |
