Weekly?
Monthly?
Once or twice a year?

Joes Shop Supporting Member of TMP12 Sep 2017 12:42 p.m. PST

I don't since all the gaming is Sci-Fi and or fantasy.

Bashytubits12 Sep 2017 12:48 p.m. PST

hardly ever as all the stores are 25 miles or more away from where I live.

Disco Joe12 Sep 2017 12:54 p.m. PST

Never because there are no local game stores.

Rrobbyrobot12 Sep 2017 12:55 p.m. PST

At least once a week. Often twice.

Random Die Roll Supporting Member of TMP12 Sep 2017 12:55 p.m. PST

Never, the game nights are Pokemon, Magic and Warhammer---just not my thing

Ed Mohrmann Supporting Member of TMP12 Sep 2017 12:55 p.m. PST

3-4 times/year

coopman12 Sep 2017 1:00 p.m. PST

What local game store?

Personal logo Bobgnar Supporting Member of TMP12 Sep 2017 1:00 p.m. PST

Ditto to "Joe's Shop".

rustymusket12 Sep 2017 1:10 p.m. PST

Just began to again. Nothing regularly yet. The historical gaming club in St. Louis has one Sunday per month, and I am working on getting to them.

JimDuncanUK12 Sep 2017 1:15 p.m. PST

Never, just doesn't happen on my part of the planet.

Wackmole912 Sep 2017 1:26 p.m. PST

Once a month

PzGeneral12 Sep 2017 1:27 p.m. PST

I don't either

Dynaman878912 Sep 2017 1:41 p.m. PST

Once a little over a year ago.

As I don't drive, 'local' has to be easy by public transport. There are some that are accessible but only one possible that does anything I'm interested in and I've yet to try that.

To be honest, gaming with strangers, after so many years of gaming with those I know well, is a little intimidating.

Old Contemptibles12 Sep 2017 1:48 p.m. PST

Montly

emckinney12 Sep 2017 1:50 p.m. PST

Almost never. Either particular events on weekends taking up all the space, games I'm not interested in, or nights of the week when I'm not free. Have played at local clubs several times, most recently at our library (primarily for the kid to play Harry Potter: Hogwarts Battle--an enjoyable game!).

Winston Smith12 Sep 2017 1:56 p.m. PST

Not for more than 10 years.

Buck21512 Sep 2017 1:59 p.m. PST

The few we do have in the area that survive long enough are fantasy/sci-fi, so never. You would be surprised how many "Warhammer40K" or basic "Warhammer" devotees up here have never heard of "Warhammer Ancient Battles"…

Personal logo T Callahan Supporting Member of TMP12 Sep 2017 1:59 p.m. PST

Weekly, we have a game group that has met every Wednesday for the past 10 years. Games tend towards space, naval and air which allow quick set up and take down. There are a few others who put on land battles of various eras.

Never.

They're great guys but it's all 40K, KoW, and MTG there, none of which I play. And it's mostly kids, so I 'd feel like a creepy old gamer dude hanging out there with my copy of Stargrunt 2.

Which is why I host a weekly game night in the Man Cave.

GatorDave Supporting Member of TMP12 Sep 2017 2:06 p.m. PST

Luckily South Atlanta has Discover Games with lot's of open tables. I manage to get in 2-4 games a month.

pvernon Supporting Member of TMP12 Sep 2017 2:18 p.m. PST

Every other week.

Col Durnford12 Sep 2017 2:19 p.m. PST

Never have had the reason to this point. Saw a few games in the process – unpainted figure and games system that are just not my thing.

Zeelow12 Sep 2017 2:27 p.m. PST

No local game stores that I am aware of in my vicinity.

Scott MacPhee12 Sep 2017 2:32 p.m. PST

I never have.

Ottoathome12 Sep 2017 2:40 p.m. PST

Never. I like to game with friends and pleasant people. I usually find people in game stores game with a chip on their shoulder and are quite unpleasant. This has forced me back to gaming in home and inviting who I wish to invite.

Doug MSC Supporting Member of TMP12 Sep 2017 2:51 p.m. PST

No game stores around unless you consider my home a game store because I do operate my business(MSC)from there. In that case, we game once a month with about 10-15 guys.

Personal logo Saber6 Supporting Member of TMP Fezian12 Sep 2017 4:45 p.m. PST

What LGS?

dilettante Supporting Member of TMP12 Sep 2017 4:58 p.m. PST

The local game store I went to closed years ago. As did the next closest. Like the other guys the remaining stores are a bit too far away for weekly gaming-:(

Mooseworks812 Sep 2017 4:59 p.m. PST

Once every two or three years.

Personal logo Doctor X Supporting Member of TMP12 Sep 2017 5:09 p.m. PST

Never

FusilierDan Supporting Member of TMP12 Sep 2017 5:22 p.m. PST

Up until about a month ago 2-3 times a month for several years but now they've closed. The other FLGS hosts a game night once a month so that will be the new norm.

TMPWargamerabbit12 Sep 2017 5:29 p.m. PST

Within 25 miles….. zip available. And I live in Los Angeles, a major metro city. Have to travel 35+ miles to a local gaming store so the number of trips is minimum. So I tend to host / stage games in the friendly Winnetka warren. Tables size up to 20' x6 and a very large painted wargame collection, in several periods or eras", equally large tabletop terrain collection to match, and with all the kitchen / bar support in place. Just need the weekend time to stage the gaming days.

Henry Martini12 Sep 2017 7:01 p.m. PST

No I wouldn't, Buck215.

We only have the SGS (State Gaming Shop) here – and it doesn't and can't offer gaming space; it's too small.

DinOfBattle212 Sep 2017 7:07 p.m. PST

Once every couple months, but game every Wednesday at my house

COL Scott ret12 Sep 2017 7:45 p.m. PST

When I have visited other areas on TDY trips, a few good evenings have been spent with friends that I only met shortly before.

vagamer63 Supporting Member of TMP12 Sep 2017 8:30 p.m. PST

Weekly for many, many years!!

skinkmasterreturns13 Sep 2017 6:40 a.m. PST

I try to, at least once a month,if not more, depending on my work schedule.. Also,I try to buy from him every time I'm there, even if its just a soda. Since his distributor can get plastics like Perry and Fireforge, hes getting my business that way. He needs a minimum order to build up? No problem-I can wait even if its a month. I even throw a few bucks on the order every time I go in. He's gotta eat too, afterall.

daoloth13 Sep 2017 6:41 a.m. PST

I normally game weekly at my LGS.

Allen5713 Sep 2017 7:00 a.m. PST

Never. Too far away to be considered local I guess.

Tom Reed13 Sep 2017 7:16 a.m. PST

After our old store closed the gang was in limbo for a while…some of that was my fault for going into a gaming funk. We have just started up again at the new location and are trying to meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month.

Black Cavalier13 Sep 2017 7:36 a.m. PST

I try to get there weekly barring family plans.

Bob in Edmonton13 Sep 2017 8:08 a.m. PST

Twice a week now that they host our club. Before that, never.

jefritrout13 Sep 2017 8:12 a.m. PST

I tend to game 2x a month at ours just outside of Baltimore. There is a group that meets every Monday, another that meets every Thursday for games, and many Fridays are also there for gaming. Yes, there is lots of fantasy and Sci-Fi, but plenty of Historical as well.

MajorB13 Sep 2017 10:33 a.m. PST

What local game store?

Old Contemptibles13 Sep 2017 12:24 p.m. PST

The one you don't have.

The Tin Dictator13 Sep 2017 1:52 p.m. PST

Never.

Personal logo miniMo Supporting Member of TMP13 Sep 2017 2:16 p.m. PST

At a couple of them!

One, weekly.
The other, at least once a month.

Garryowen Supporting Member of TMP13 Sep 2017 5:00 p.m. PST

Three times per year in a big year.
