AS some have been following my updates to this new period for me I have been showing progress to the start of this project to a brigade level game. The Rules to give guidance is the new Fire n Fury Brigade. My past posting were NC brigade and some yanks from V Corps. In this update I have another confederate brigade. These seem to be developing some character, to an otherwise period known for boring grey and blue. With much research I present Rhode's Alabama brigade since, the uniform is taken per southern depots or AL clothing bureau or/and possibly Richmond depot first issue, with the faded grey-butternut hue. link To contrast to the well supported NC brigades with the better gray dye, I re- presented my fist post: TMP link I have this brigade, as to the same Division as my Anderson NC, with the 2nd bunting issue flag.
The artillery was a tough call.Per the rules, it represents 6 guns and thus a 2" width. Therefore, since I had the ratio of guns to figures to easily allow per the purchases, I went with 2 stands. This allows me to remove one for a damaged battery and to mix the guns per the period situation for "Mixed batteries", along with the proper frontage. Enjoy MG |

Figures look great. Not really liking the look of the teddy bear fur. I think it works best with larger scales. I have read that some folks paint it in some way to make it more real looking. |

Yes for some reason my fur is looking washed out with my camera. In person it looks like a light to mid green field of new spring grass with some old dead grass below or in patches, as it should. I used dye instead of paint. Paint gets it darker but clumps and feels terrible, especially on this shorter hair length. It is for my 15s and I borrowed it for the pics, instead of the desk top or the carpeted floor. MG |

It's coming along nicely, even more credit for being able to paint figures that small! I don't think my eyes would ever forgive me! |

Yes bracken I have to now get assistance with magnification. I already had some support commissioned that ran into that problem as well. We have both learned it is a big adjustment step from our 15s! Probably the same thing for one going from 25s to the 15s. Good thing is that sufficient detail is not needed and you get so many to a stand that it is giving the mass effect sought, while also a little ease from that to painting even smaller 6mm! Hats off to those who stick with the sixes! I had to unload mine…. MG |
