So I am set to start a work conference aboard the Queen Mary in Long Beach. I suddenly realized that this is the same ship that took my dad to England during WWII just prior to DDay

I met a guy back in the 70s who had a degree in art from England. He was the projectionist about the Queen Mary. Made a little above minimun wage, but he was happy.

Hey, my Dad went on the Queen Mary the other way: he was with the Fleet Air Arm and learnt to fly in Texas!

Brought my dad from South Africa to UK to go on ops in Bomber Command. Sailed without being part of a convoy because of her speed.
