Anyone tried Hail Caesar using Viking supplement rules?
28mm figs.

I use Hail Caesar for the Viking age, although I am adding Shield Wall rules instead of HC's close order rule. The rules work very well for this era….

Getting ready to re fight the battle of Edington in a couple of days and will be posting an AAR…

Thank you. But do the rules of them
Work for small or skirmish scenarios. 25 to 50 figs per side?

I've used HC for Viking battles as well…
it's fun. though there are only so many ways one wall of men will charge another…

though HC is NOT a skirmish system. I think you are thinking about something else. HC is a generic ancients – medieval combat game, and the dark age supplement is really just a bunch of army lists.

HC requires around 200 a side honestly…

Oh oh. Thank you for the Hail Cesar info. I might have screwed up with that one. Glad I have a back up plan.

Yes…..HC is a for larger battles…….check out SAGA for skirmishes.
