The Harford Area Weekly Kriegspielers (HAWKs) are organizing a contest that will be held at Fall In! 2018. Yes, that's 2018. We are announcing this well in advance so that people can prepare their submissions. For more information and contest rules, go here: link Sorry for the re-post. The "bug" changed the title the last time I posted on this topic. |

This is a very creative idea. I am confused about when you are doing this. See text below from web site. Is this to be a new, original game by the GM, or an existing game, like DBA just packaged by the GM? "The Harford Area Weekly Kriegspielers (HAWKs) are sponsoring a contest at Fall In! 2018 to see who can present the nicest game possible within a constrained space budget."
"The contest will be held at Cold Wars 2018 in or near the HAWKs room. Members of the HAWKs and Battle in a Box contestants will conduct the judging. " |

Uh, Guys? Maximum weight and dimensions of box? Necessary playing conditions? And if there is some sort of contest, I want to see the score sheets you're going to give the judges before I start work on anything. I've been down this road before. Half-scale DBA requires a 12"x12"x1" box and can be played on a plane or train. The Wessencraft Army Corps game would require about four times the volume--roughly a laptop bag--and presumes a card table at the far end. Is the Wessencraft game doomed to defeat, or can the beauty and flexibility of the game make up the difference? Are there points for flexibility? A painted board and a single selection of troops for both sides can be beautiful and the paint and reduced troop selection limit the weight--but you wind up with a single game. Anyway, show me the score sheet, or I'm not playing. |
