Today was my last day of work! Nothing but gaming and painting on the horizon. Wait what is this list of 'Things to do' my wife just gave me? Damn never enough time retired or not.

Enjoy! I have 17 more years to go.

YOU WILL LOVE IT!!! Been retired since December 22nd & livin' the dream. Ignore the To Do list, I put mine under a pile of papers & "lost it". LOL

John Armatys08 Sep 2017 4:52 p.m. PST

Congratulations!

I've been retired four years, you are quite right, you will never be able to understand how you found time to work.

nnascati Supporting Member of TMP08 Sep 2017 4:59 p.m. PST

Congratulations, I've been out five years as of September 4th, haven't regretted the decision for a minute.

Jeigheff08 Sep 2017 5:03 p.m. PST

Good for you!

As for myself, I imagine that I'm going to have to wait a while longer.

Hal Thinglum Supporting Member of TMP08 Sep 2017 5:04 p.m. PST

Congratulations, Greg. You and I go way back, don't we. I wish you and your family nothing but good fortune. Keep in touch.

nevinsrip08 Sep 2017 5:10 p.m. PST

Enjoy it. You'll find plenty to keep you busy and you'll wonder how you managed to do it all before you retired.

CorroPredo08 Sep 2017 5:36 p.m. PST

Sorry to tell you this, but you never retire-you just start to work full time for the wife. For no pay.

wrgmr108 Sep 2017 6:21 p.m. PST

Relax, take care of yourself. You will be amazed how busy you will get.

coopman08 Sep 2017 6:26 p.m. PST

Congratulations.

Congrats!

I am (in theory) four years or so away

Syrinx008 Sep 2017 7:57 p.m. PST

Enjoy yourself! I'm on a count down to being made redundant due to a merger but sadly retirement is not yet in the cards. Darn college tuition bills…

Congratulations on your retirement. I've been there since last November and am having the time of my life. However, it seems like I've got more work to do than when I was working. Go figure.

Tango0108 Sep 2017 9:07 p.m. PST

Thanks for all your encouragement and kind words. A new phase of life I am eagerly looking forward to. Hal – don not worry – will stay in touch. And yes we do go way back! Best to you and your family.

Congrats! I got 4 yrs 6 months to go before I can pull the trigger.

korsun0 Supporting Member of TMP09 Sep 2017 4:28 a.m. PST

Congratulations!

If I stayed in my old job I would have been gone in 3 months. As it is I have to now do 10 years and 3 months…:(

Cerdic09 Sep 2017 6:00 a.m. PST

Lucky f…….!

KSmyth09 Sep 2017 6:13 a.m. PST

Congratulations. That is exciting. A little less than four years to go for me.

flooglestreet09 Sep 2017 8:03 a.m. PST

Congratulations, me too.

14Bore09 Sep 2017 8:24 a.m. PST

One thing I told my unvle who is and goes for everyone STAY BUSY, gaming would be part of that.
Enjoy, be there soon enough.

UshCha09 Sep 2017 2:02 p.m. PST

Wargames are great for the mind but you need to keep fit as well. If nothing else walk local and work out how you would defeat the enemy, Or look after a grand kid 1 day a week, thats Olympic standard exercise, but most of all make every day count and have FUN.

Shagnasty Supporting Member of TMP09 Sep 2017 2:53 p.m. PST

Congratulations! Do stuff you want to do that involves physical activity first. Don't let the Wall sneak up on you. Every day is a Saturday!

elsyrsyn09 Sep 2017 9:34 p.m. PST

Congratulations!

Well done Sir, I envy your unbridled painting and gaming activity.

huron725 Supporting Member of TMP10 Sep 2017 5:29 a.m. PST

Congratulations! 9 more for me.

Wise advice from the others, stay physically active.

Dagwood10 Sep 2017 9:04 a.m. PST

Recently made redundant, I am trying to figure out if I can retire early. Probably not for a couple of years yet, though …

Tom Reed10 Sep 2017 12:41 p.m. PST

1 to 2 years and I'm out too!

Howler11 Sep 2017 12:54 p.m. PST

Congrats! My wife laughs at the mention of me retiring and asks me who put that silly idea into my head. Oh well, I'd probably get bored anyway.

Elenderil11 Oct 2017 10:01 a.m. PST

Just over 44 months to go for me. Much as I love my job I can't wait to have the time to do all the stuff I have been putting off for years.

Personal logo Legion 4 Supporting Member of TMP11 Oct 2017 1:12 p.m. PST

Well I guess I am retired … I just got Soc Sec Disability. I'll be 61 in a couple of months so it's about a year early.
A lot of my older friends who are on Soc Sec. have told me to take it at 62. You never know what could happen … huh?

14Bore19 Oct 2017 3:21 p.m. PST

Congratulations, I'm not there for a while but a suggestion I would give you and to any other guy.
Keep busy, work, hobby, trips or whatever.

So in that vein, how is that lead pile anyway?

Personal logo Legion 4 Supporting Member of TMP20 Oct 2017 7:15 a.m. PST

Thank U ! I plan on painting all my models until the day I die. And come back and continue to paint until they are all completed. Then I may move on … Or haunt some people that I think deserve it ! LOL ! evil grin

And in between painting I've got a number of things to keep me busy ! Alive or dead ! wink
