I tend to agree with the anonymous contributor to the linked review; I enjoyed the book, but it could have been a lot better with more Bavarian-specific information. I assumed there was no more available, but Anonymous suggests otherwise. And it's annoying when the author occasionally mentions regiments that don't appear in his appendix listing Bavarian regiments; a couple of times I wasn't clear whether he was using a variant spelling or referring to a regiment that wasn't Bavarian at all.

Is that a review? No mention to the pages number, to the presence of illustrations, to the price, …..bah!

I purchased this at SELWG on Sunday and flicked through it yesterday. Whilst the anonymous reviewer is correct, it is still a good book on the TYW and there are precious few of those around.

The price is £20.00 GBP from Helion, hardback, just shy of 200 pages (195), and illustrated in B&W only.

Does anyone knows if the book have any specific information about the catholic league uniforms, or just the general description of period clothing that often appears in works about the thirty years war? I'm interested in buying it, but there are no previews at amazon or google books, so I'm afraid to buy it and get disappointed…
