Several new entries over at my blog. I've posted pictures of the latest warship to be built, some forts/fortresses, and a report of how I spent Hurricane Harvey. Spoiler alert: I live in the Houston area, but didn't get flooded. Please check out the new material at:

Very interesting post.
If you are interested in acquiring the San Marcos castle there is a website that sells it made in resin with an acceptable quality.

Your HMS Britania looks great. Good job at rigging!

I am waiting to see the cost analysis you are doing, very interesntig too! You also could ask Fernando Enterprice why he does not paint boats on a scale of 1/1200

Congratulations on your blog, have interesting articles.

Rory,
Yes, but I sometimes think you've figured out how to physically get inside my computer for a sneak peak! :-)

Julian,
Thanks. I will readily admit that I am not able to mass produce them like you do. Conversely, if you painted at my speed you might very well starve to death! Also, I had never considered asking anyone else why they do or do not paint 1200 scale ships for pay. That might be a good way to wrap up the series once I'm done.
EDIT: hispaniasails is your website, is it not? It is a very nice model fort, and if I could flog my other one off to someone else I would definitely consider it.

Stew,
Glad you're enjoying it. I've kind of come to enjoy writing about the little things.

No, hispaniasails is not my website. I have no business relationship with this website except the commercial one, I bought some items.

Glad to see you made it safe, Brian. Nice work, as always!

Julian,
Oh, OK. My mistake then, as I thought it was yours along with Model J. Don't know why I thought that, as it wouldn't really make a lot of sense.

Jeff,
Yes, we came though with no damage. As I have said in other places, we were fortunate beyond belief.

PS for Stew: Right now the plastic containers in my neighborhood are all sold out. If you can get me your email address, I'll send you pictures of my old ones. The promise to do a blog post on the new ones still stands too.

Hey Brian!

Thanks for the offer, though I don't know how I would get you my email address privately. Can't PM through TMP and couldn't figure out how to do it from the blog. (I'm new to blogging myself, so don't know all the ins and outs).

However! There's really no rush. I would appreciate a 'storage' post eventually when you have the time and inclination, as it's a problem I'll have to address eventually. But I don't want you to feel obligated either. I only have 1 ship complete anyway (though soon to be a second!), so it's not a burning issue.

Also, I'm sure with the aftermath of the hurricane even though you were fortunate (Horaay!) I'm sure there is plenty going on, so please don't waste time and energy about some guy on the other side of the country and his toy boats! : )

Stew,
Well,as it turns out Blogger offers a "contact me" gadget, and I just added it to the blog. Chances are, I would not have found it if you hadn't said that.

As for the boxes, I will do a post on them, I promise. Your question made me look at mine and realize they are like the US infrastructure: old, overcrowded, and a little shabby. So, it's time to make some new ones, using what I learned making the old ones.
