After reading of Cacique Caribe's plight TMP link and then seeing Tango01's post on the battle maps of San Jacinto, my thoughts suddenly turned to "What has happened, if anything, to the USS Texas monument?" She is moored along Buffalo Bayou which, if I'm not mistaken, is one of the waterways that has overflowed its banks tinyurl.com/ybsu4xw6 .

Does anyone have any information about her?

Last set of photos I saw from o board at the height of the storm showed she was just fine

Yep, the Battleship cam looks to be static and not showing any action – there are pop-up gazebos shown on the main deck, not something that would survive strong winds. A lot of the other cameras show heavy rain or flooding.

Back in October we made a brief detour to the San Jacinto Monument, it would have been longer if I'd been driving. While there, I recall reading that the USS Texas, sbout
mile away,was barely afloat as it hadn't been maintained very well in recent years; leaks being patched with concrete and parts of the main deck worn through. If that's true, she couldn't have done too well with Harvey's visit, but I think it would have made the news if she'd sunk.

Curious article – didn't click on the link near the bottom about Houston being tested. Wonder how the author of that line feels now?

Okay, peeked at the article – if people were paying attention, Houston got a warning a couple of months ahead of Harvey. Prophetic in a way.
