Craig from Tiny Terrain Models ( link ) has just finished his second game in his campaign to bring stability to Damaris.
Operation Darter: Game 2 – "Cor blimey guvnor, its the East End"
Having hit strong resistance to the South of Damaris Sgt Norton and his men regroup and a day or 2 later are sent to investigate the East side of town. Luckily Private Moses is fully recovered from his near miss with the RPG, and the section are joined by 2 local Afghan police (to act as guides) and a Panther to provide some extra firepower. Off table the section have a drone to provide prior warning of any serious threats and some extra targeting support for the mortars back at the COP.
Intel suggests that the Tali are using the network of dry gullies that runs around the town as a unofficial highway to move supplies, usually in old vans and lorries with heavily armed technicals in support. Norton and his men are to enter the area and stop one of these convoys if they can, or at least detain a couple of the Taliban for further questioning.
The Taliban have a dicker on a motorbike which patrols the gully, making sure the route is clear ahead, so an ambush will be difficult to set up, and the ISAF may have to go for a hard hitting stop as and when the opportunity arises. The Taliban commander also has +1 command for this game having driven off the British in the last game.
As with game 1 the British must positively ID the Taliban before firing on any individual for the first time, by passing a command test.
Tali AI will be run using a modified version of the "Threat Generation System" and Spectre will be used for all Combat mechanics.
Table set up as below with the Brits coming in the from bottom left corner, which is South West. Taliban dicker is on the northern edge, and the supply "convoy" entering in the gully from the East.
British starting position
Turn 1: The British move out
As does the 2 truck convoy, along the gully
And the dicker patrols the way ahead of them
Turn 2: the Brits move up into the first compound
