Thanks for posting. Like your simple, but nicely done Battle Board. |

Is that all the playing area that is needed? |

For the tactical combats, as a minimum, one playing area ("battle board") as above for "rooms", plus a narrower one for "corridors". |

By "Battle Board", yo umean the typical 3x3 surface as used in most THW games? |

Pretty much whatever dungeon tiles you have. My largest, for example, are 8 squares by 8 squares, or 8" x 8". |

The Battle Board is a 4 figure by 6 figure surface for combat in the dungeon. I've played it many times with figures only and you can use any size board you want. I went to Home Depot and got a 12 x 12 tile then cut it into a 4 x 6 board with a 2 x 6 corridor. Works great. I track the whole dungeon with paper and pencil. The 3x3 table would be used if you wanted to lay out dungeon tiles, not required. |

Whirlwind, The best thing about Hero Quest is the minis! Ed, Good to know I'm not the only one using Home Depot tile squares. I can usually find a 12x12 sheet that has one tile broken and get the whole thing for half price! Also, thanks for posting on this site and the great job you do of interacting with the community! |

I also went to Hobby Lobby and bought a grid sheet that is used to embroider on. I cut it and mount it the same way on tiles for space ship decks or for modern ships. |
